Double Chocolate Cake
This cake is a birthday must! Top-notch gourmet chocolate is the star of this amazing cake. Unlike most chocolate cakes, ours is not too sweet, moist, and has a deep chocolate flavor throughout. Layered and frosted with a traditional southern chocolate fudge frosting.
Now for a taste of Soulfully Sweet History!
Since the earliest centuries, Africans and other peoples of color grew, and used chocolate as currency. However, did not arrive to the U.S. until 1765 when John Hanan brought cocoa beans from the West Indies to Dorchester, Massachusetts, thinking that it might be useful for medicinal purposes. Together with Dr. James Baker, they started the first chocolate factory in the U.S to manufacture remedies for illnesses. Baker's chocolate still produces chocolate (for baking) to this very day!
